September & October
Your child is growing up quickly, and before you know it, he will be marching into kindergarten and singing her way to first grade! Your child's foundation for academic success starts now. In our classroom, I design an environment that is intentional and engaging for students to further develop:
- Personal & Social Skills
- Language & Literacy
- Mathematical Thinking
- Scientific Thinking
- Social Studies
- The Arts (as an expression & representation)
- Physical & Spiritual Health
Our classroom environment is designed to give children the best preschool experience by including materials and resources to meet early learning standards. Lesson plans are created with Minnesota's Early Learning Standards in focus. Although some lessons may focus on one or two of these standards, so many more are being met through our schedule and daily interactions. Your child is beginning to take new steps in approaching problems and creating meaningful learning experiences every day.
Please send your child's preschool folder to school each day. This is a great way for projects and work to get home safely, your child to develop independence in the classroom, and a great way for you to communicate with me or the office.
Preschool Family Project
The October Preschool Family Project will be sent home at the end of the first week of October. It should be completed and turned in the second week of October. Each month there will be a new project for you and your preschooler to complete for our shared wall.
Scholastic Book Orders
Information was sent home about setting up a Scholastic account to order books for your student. Monthly orders will be placed at the end of each month. Scholastic offers GREAT deals on books to add to your library at home and give back to our school library through each order. Our next order will be placed on Friday, October 26th. Log on to check out the great deals waiting for you and your family. Take a look at the great selection of low-cost books and activity packets to add to your home literacy center.
