School Advisory Council (SAC)
- Mission/Objective
- To provide counsel, advice, and support to the school principal and the pastor to ensure that policies and programs at Nativity of Mary are consistent with the school’s mission and philosophy.
- To provide counsel, advice, and support to the school principal and the pastor in the operation of the school.
- To provide counsel, advice, and support to the school principal and the pastor in the development and implementation of school policies, as well as to monitor the use and implementation of approved policies.

- How to Join
- Interested parents and staff apply in the spring of each year to serve a three-year term on the Council. The nominating committee reviews the submitted applications and appoints the new members.
- Council members play an active leadership role by serving on various sub-committees.
- Meeting Frequency
- Monthly; typically from 6:45-8:00 a.m. on a Friday.
Human Dignity Committee (HDC)
- Mission/Objective
- The Nativity of Mary Human Dignity Committee strives to ensure that each person in the school community is celebrated as being created in the image and likeness of God. We value diversity and are committed to creating a welcoming and respectful environment for all students, staff, and families in our community.
We provide resources and ideas for our educators that help them accurately and respectfully represent the cultures present within our Nativity community, as well as the broader community, in classroom teaching and special projects. If and when inequity is identified within our school community, we will respond promptly to help identify root causes and propose solutions to school leadership.

- 6 meetings throughout the school year (October-April); typically from 8:15-9:15 a.m. on first Fridays.
Spirit of Spring Planning Committee
- Mission/Objective
- To coordinate and facilitate the school’s main fundraising event, a ticketed dinner and auction in the spring.
- Current Members
- Jen Entwistle (Chair); rest of 2022-2023 committee currently being formed.

- How to Join
- If you are a parent or guardian of a Nativity student and would like to help plan a fun and successful event that serves as a critical fundraiser for the school, contact Jen Entwistle at jentwistle@barr.com. We are especially seeking someone with a graphic design or marketing background to assist with the auction booklets.

Community Event Committee (CEC)
- Mission/Objective
- To coordinate and run three community events (autumn, winter, and spring) to help strengthen the Nativity community. The committee works along with a parent-school liaison to facilitate event planning.
